Especially for all foreign visitors

So that i have some visitors outside Germany at my blog, this post is especially for you : What happened till now?

I found my new Bug in Dec.2008 and bought him the self month. My daughter told me to call him Herbie - ok, why not: He´s lotos-white and an old Love Bug . It´s an original 1500er Bug, Shifter, build in 1967 with disc brakes and metal Sunroof.

This Restoration is an really Low Budget Project, but i´m trying to do my best. I got almost the Tools witch I need for this Project and the whole (but less) Replacement Parts, body panels, Tuning Parts etc. are coming from Friends, Gert Tafel Tuning or they are simply self made ( not original metal sheets were made to fit perfect ! )

I started at the beginning with the front - the whole front (mainly the left side) was in an incredible condition, so I decided to change it with an Brazilian Front Clip.

After done, I made my way along the left heater channel - from the front to the rear.

After all, there was -except the front- not the most rust, I could change the rusty metal without

Pickup the chassis.

One of the most surprises were both back Bumper Brackets - they are in excellent condition !

After checking the Brakes it goes on: from the right back to the right front.

The 41 years old heater channel is in really good condition - just some rust at the rear corner

from the channel ….

Welding the corner, I told at last , closing the holes from the Front hood seal. Last but not least cleaning the whole floor pan downside. Completely waxing the Cavities and the inside Fenders, completing / mounting all parts, checking the electricity … hope to be ready at Apr-30 . At may,1^st the Season starts with a big Bug meeting in Hannover, Germany….
